17 Metre Classic Cutter Rigged Sloop
Built in 1959 by Cantiere Naval, Pisa, Italy
Designed by Bruno Veronesi

Description
Built by Cantiere Naval in Pisa, Italy. Pinocchio is a modern cutter rigged sloop
designed by the renowned Italian designer Bruno Veronesi, known for his
classical style and experience to build strong vessels, capable of sailing the
oceans of the world.
Pinocchio is constructed with grown oak frames with 2” traditional mahogany
planking and teak decking. During July 2003 a full survey was carried out by
Halkitis Urania, Perama, Greece and repairs and refurbishment carried out
accordingly. The planking and hull has been re-fixed and re-caulked where
necessary, copper guard system for the hull applied professionally and fully repainted
topsides.
Having undergone an extensive refurbishment by her previous owner in 1991
(circa £200k by Sheppards Marina in Gibraltar), in 1992 her original timber mast,
rigging and sails were replaced with aluminium mast spars, stainless steel
rigging and sails by Hood (including roller foresail and mainsail). The mast was
removed for an overhaul and powder coated finish in 1998.

More recently, Pinocchio has undergone considerable re-design and
refurbishment by her current owner to make her a very comfortable vessel for up
to nine guests. Accommodation consists of two berths in the rear cabin with ensuite
shower, washing and toilet facilities; two single (one also converting into a
double) in the main saloon and one four posted double berth in the forward cabin
with entrance into the galley and main shower, wash and toilet facilities.

leading into the anchor area.
The bed has extensive stowage space underneath, along with a set of drawers

entrance into the cabin and small footlockers for shoes etc.
On the left hand side of the cabin a table lifts from the bulkhead – perfect for
breakfast in bed.
