S/Y Gerdny is a SWEDISH 95 square meter CLASS built 1920 to the 1918 square meter rule. She was built at Hasselströms WarF IN SWEDEN after drawings by Erik Salander, one of the most famous SWEDISH naval architects of OUR time.
She has a modern Bermuda 7/8 rigg, an inboard diesel engine and is richly equipped.
The present owner has owned her for 10 years.
During 1997–2001, she was on land and totally restored by professional boat builders.
She is in mint condition and stronger than when she was new.
Gerdny is RE-designed to be sailed by two persons, she is normally raced by a crew of 6-8 and sleeps 5-6 persons.
Her dead weight is 10 metric tons.

Hull and deck
30 mm mahogany (original) and pine (new under the water line) on original steel (every third) and oak frames. New stem- and stern posts in oak. New keel plank and deadwood in oak. Original keel weight of lead (about 4000 kilograms). New floor plates of stainless steel throughout. New deck beams of oak through out strengthened by plates of stainless steel in certain areas. New solid Oregon pine deck planking (30 mm) with plank-sheer, trimmings and bulwarks of mahogany. The cabin has new beams of mahogany, new inner lining of Oregon pine and the original outer cover of mahogany, a new skylight and the original hatch.

The underwater body is waterproofed with red lead under yacht primer and anti fouling paint. The free boards are proofed with linseed oil under white enamel paint. Deck planking is proofed with Coelan and all mahogany on the outside and in the interior is varnished. The insides of the freeboards are varnished and covered by varnished Oregon pine planking throughout. Two cockpits in mahogany (one separate for the helmsman). The main cockpit has two self bailing outlets in a GRP floor covered by teak duckboards. Forward pulpit in stainless steel.

Mast and Rig
New carbon fibre mast of 22.5 meters length (Marstroms) supported by partial rod rig with 15 degrees swept spreaders. All running tackles of Spectra. Aluminium boom from Seldens Mast (23.6 ft) with two quick reef tackles. Rod kick.

Sails
Mainsail: CL-laminate, 882 sq.ft
Jib: CL-laminate, 344 sq.ft
Genua: Old Light-wind, 645 sq.ft
Spinnaker: .5 nylon, 2045 sq.ft (three)

Normal cruising speed at 2200 rpm is 7.5 – 8 knots, fuel consumption about
1 litre/hour

Electric systems
12 volt 2 battery system with a 55 amp generator for engine start and certain users.
24 volt 4 battery system with a 55 amp generator for most lighting and other users.
Switch and fuse panels for both systems.
Battery status monitoring panel for the 24 volt system (TRI-METRIC 2020).
Shore power (230 V) charging and monitoring system for both systems
(Tystor Soft -12V, Tystor IPC-24V).

Storage and holding tanks (all new in stainless steel)
Diesel 120 litres (31gallons) for engine and heater with a tank gauge instrument
Drinking water 120 litres (31 gallons) with a tank gauge instrument
Waste 85 litres (22 gallons)

Rudder and steering
New rudder of stainless steel and GRP. Wheel of stainless steel with leather trimmings. Whitlock Mamba steering system with a force ratio 1:7. Electric rudder angel indicator. The system is prepared for an autopilot mode though a drive motor is not installed.

B&G wind and navigation system with 2 display and control panels and analogue instruments for wind angel and magnified wind angel.

Propane stove with to fires and an oven. The propane cylinder is placed under deck aft in a gas-proof box which is drained to the outside. A separate gas leak detector (Alde 4071) is installed.

Hot air, diesel driven, thermostat controlled heater (Webasto Air Top 3500) with outlets in the main cabin and the forepeak
